Hemsby beach has golden sands, in one direction you can walk to Scratby and in the other direction you can walk to Winterton both are about two miles. There are toilets and a cafe at both Winterton and Scratby, you have shops and amusements in beach road as well as takeaways and places to eat.

Great Yarmouth is only six miles away with all the night life and many attractions, pleasure beach, sea life centre and its golden mile, market day is on Wednesdays and Saturdays look out to sea and see the wind farm on Scroby sands or take a trip out on the small boats that go off the beach. Live shows on the pier in the summer season.

The Norfolk broads only five miles away where you can hire a boat for the day or go fishing, or visit Hickling nature reserve.

Go up the coast road north and you will come to Cromer and Sherringham, 28 miles, Sherringham has the north Norfolk steam railway

Wells next to the sea a bit further on has a harbour and you can walk to the pine woods

Norwich is about 12 miles away with its shopping malls and castle.
