Hexham was recently voted ' Best Market Town '- see the Abbey founded in 674AD and the Moot Hall and Old Gaol.

It has shops, supermarkets, restaurants and country pubs. There are sports facilities of many kinds with no less than four golf courses nearby. Hexham Race Course is 1/2 mile from the cottage.

Walk Hadrian's Wall and visit Housteads fort and Vindolanda.

Explore Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park. Go to Alnwick Castle for the ' Hogwarts ' experience and browse in the Duchess' Garden. Take the coastal route and see the castles and beaches and cross the causeway to Holy Island.

Visit Newcastle for its vibrant nightlife on the Quayside - see the Millennium Bridge and visit the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts and the Sage Gateshead Music Centre.

Travel north into the wild and romantic Borders or south west to the Lake District. There are good road and rail connections with both Newcastle and Carlisle.

The cottage sleeps four & cot. Relax in front of the open stone fire and dine in the farm house dining room/kitchen with AGA. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedded room and bathroom and shower.

Pets are welcome and grazing and stabling can be available for up to two horses or ponies.

Included are electricity, fuel oil for the full central heating and AGA, fuel for the open fire, on site parking, colour TV, automatic washing machine, dish washer, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, iron, cot, highchair, garden furniture and barbeque.

All bed linen including duvets towels etc. and all necessary cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are included.
