A rural cottage in the protected nature reserve of Costa Azul
A modernly furnished, detached holiday cottage with enough space to receive 4 guests.
With a beautiful garden and surrounded by bougainvillea, oleander and palm-trees.
Ideal if you like walking, biking, good food or just lying in the shade of cork-oaks. A culture-shock in the south-west of Portugal.
Sit yourself down under the cork-oaks, take a stroll in the olive-grove, enjoy breakfast under the vines.
Provisions : two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, big living room with television, radio, wood-stove. Private terraces with magnificent view, possibility for BBQ etc.
For nature-lovers, hikers and those who enjoy the Portuguese outdoor life.
NO CAMP. That is the Portuguese word for “outside”, “in the country”.
Because of the tranquillity, the space and the beauty of this “campo”, in 1999 we purchased a farm with 4 hectares of land, just outside of Santa Margarida da Serra, with hundreds of cork-oaks, an olive-grove, a kitchen-garden and lots of fruit-trees.
We planted subtropical trees and shrubs and converted the “monte”, the original farmstead in Alentejo-style, into one single guest-house. Not a resort, but one private accommodation just for you.
To the North: you are just over one hour away from Lisbon. Portugal’s capital is well worth a visit. Lots of thing to do and see, much more than we can tell you in brief, but you will find ample information in your sitting-room.
To the south: do not forget to visit some of the fishing-villages, like Sines for instance. The many coloured fishing-boats, the lively quays, the fishmongers, all so typical of the Portuguese coast.
It goes without saying that here you find a wide choice of seafood in the many restaurants.
So, for those who prefer beauty and tranquillity to crowded Holiday Resorts, staying at No Campo is an excellent choice.
