Hillview Cottage, Dalwood

Dalwood is situated in the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Some 4 miles from the rural market town of Axminster and within an 8 mile drive of the pretty Georgian town of Honiton with its many antique shops along its High Street, Hillview Cottage is an ideal place for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The Lyme Bay Jurassic Coastline, famous for its fossils and now designated a World Heritage Site, is also within an 8 mile drive of the cottage. There are a number of National Trust properties to visit within 45 minutes drive ~ a la Ronde at Exmouth, Killerton near Exeter and Montacute on the outskirts of Yeovil. Also ideal for golf, walking, fishing and riding.

There is a shop in the village run by local volunteers where daily newspapers can be ordered. The village also boasts a typical English old thatched pub, The Tucker's Arms which serves delicious food with its pretty beer garden at the back. Also, in Axminster there are 2 supermarkets and a selection of interesting smaller shops including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Store and Canteen. Market Day is Thursday which is always worth a visit!

The cottage is set in the heart of the village close by to the Village Hall, once the Old School, the charming 15th Century Church of St. Peter and a number of attractive old thatched properties so typical of East Devon. This owner maintained cottage with its low beamed ceilings upstairs and lovely cottage garden comprises of a cosy and comfortably-furnished lounge, well-equipped kitchen-diner, 2 bedrooms ~ 1 double and 1 twin, bathroom with overhead shower and separate toilet. Electric cooking, microwave, fridge(4-star compartment), automatic washing machine, colour T.V. with Freeview, VCR and DVD/CD, and video player, night storage heaters, duvets.

Enclosed garden with furniture. Private Parking for 1 car ~ 50 yards and parking also adjacent to the cottage. Bed Linen and all Fuel included. Towels and Tea Towels NOT provided. Children Welcome. (Stair-Gate and Travel Cot w/o linen available). Sorry No Smokers or Pets.

Open all year round except Christmas and New Year. Short Breaks available out-of-season. Saturday is Change-over Day.
Arrival time : 3-00pm and Departure time : 10-00am.

Price Range : from £290 ~ £495 per week. Inclusive of Bed Linen/Towels (NOT BEACH TOWELS) and all Fuel.
