Self catering with a REAL view.......
Calath is a modern self-catering house situated within 20 minutes walk from the village of Carbost on the west coast of Skye. It was designed by award winning architects Dualchas and completed in 2003.
The house has three large double bedrooms and can sleep up to eight people comfortably with 2 king size, 2 single and 2 sofa type beds. There is a large open plan dining/lounge area where the views to the loch and of the whole of the Cuillin ridge must be seen to be believed.
A wood burning stove in the lounge is available for colder evenings. Modern kitchen with all appliances including dishwasher. Large patio doors lead from the kitche to an area of decking which enjoys unobstructed views to the loch and to the Cuillins. Midges are not usually a problem at the house, this is unusual for Skye!
Ample parking space for up to 4 cars at the house.
Local facilities within walking distance include pub, post office with cash machine, shop with fuel and children's play park. Additionally the world famous Talkisker Whisky Distillery is also nearby.
Calath is an ideal base for outdoor activities with many coastal and mountian walks in the local area. Alternatively it is well placed for touring the beautiful Isle of Skye.
Portree and Broadford, the two main towns on the island, are within 30 minutes drive from the house. Sligachan and Glenbrittle, the main access points for the Cuillin mountains, are less than 10 miles away.
Online booking using papal is available if required.
