This exceptionally friendly, now self catering, Guest House in central Stratford-upon-Avon has been established for many years and is today run by proprietors Karen & Yannick Cauvin.

For the vast majority of visitors the highlight of their stay in a traditional B&B is a full cooked English Breakfast.

However, Penshurst has moved away from the traditional and, though an appetising alternative is offered, they no longer offer an English Breakfast.

Our Guest House is situated just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon, renowned the world over as the Birthplace of William Shakespeare.

What does Penshurst offer that is so radically different from other guest houses?

The ability to completely self-cater in a fully equipped shared kitchen without the normal constraint of having to book Saturday to Saturday.

Our Rooms

There are now only four ensuite guest rooms with a variety of sleeping arrangements. Each of them is individually decorated and furnished, including the provision of a dining table and chairs.

Bridge
A family en-suite room on the first floor with one double and two singles for 3 -4 people.

Ely
A family en-suite room on the first floor with a double bed and one single accommodating 2-3 people.

Bancroft
An ensuite double room on the second floor.

Chapel
An en-suite twin/triple with three single beds on the second floor accommodating 2-3 people.

Self Catering Facilities

Simply warming up a soup or making a sandwich in the middle of the day can be an insurmountable problem in most guest houses and therefore Penshurst has recently provided a fully equipped kitchen on the first floor so that visitors can cater for themselves as they wish. The kitchen is available all day and is shared uniquely by the 4 guest rooms.

The following facilities are provided within the kitchen:

· Electric ceramic hob
· A Combination microwave, oven and grill
· Toaster
· Kettle
· All crockery, glassware and cutlery
· Cookware
· Bake ware

The storage in the kitchen is arranged so that each room has its own allocated cupboard, fridge and freezer space. Since the room is on the first floor, there are no laundry facilities, but there is an excellent launderette providing both self-serve and service washes only 2 -3 minutes walk away.

Optional Extras

In providing optional extra services Penshurst enables visitors to take advantage of good quality accommodation at exceptionally low prices when compared with guest houses providing all inclusive breakfast and room servicing. This allows visitors to tailor make a package to suit their needs and budget.

Although a full cooked English Breakfast is no longer offered, many people would like an easy start to their day and with this in mind the following can be arranged, in the form of a Continental basket to include juice, cereals, a variety of breads, preserves and butter.

Stratford-upon-Avon

Stratford has a whole host of attractions with something for everyone. The town centre offers Shakespeare Properties, shops, restaurants and riverside walks. A trip to Stratford would not be complete without a visit to one of the three Shakespearean theatres.

Warwick Castle

Within easy driving distance you will find the charming villages of the North Cotswolds and just 6 miles from Stratford is the impressive Warwick Castle, where there is just so much see and do.
