Orchard Cottage

The cottage is a 3-minute walk to the large town Castanheira de Pera, which has all the amenities you would expect from a large town. Mini supermarkets, 2 banks, post office, farmacia, health centre, restaurants, cafe bars and open air swimming pool with a wave machine (Praia das Rochas) .

Orchard Cottage is a single story traditional stone build, the main entrance opens onto a spacious fully equipped kitchen/dining room.

The cosy lounge has comfortable seating, satellite TV (UK and Portuguese) a dvd, cd and video player. French doors lead out to the sun terrace and splash pool.

Both bedrooms have a double bed, wardrobes and chest of drawers. The separate modern bathroom has a walk-in shower, hand basin and toilet. All rooms have tiled floors.

Orchard Cottage is the perfect base for exploring this beautiful region of Portugal.

Castanheira de Pera is situated centrally between Lisbon and Porto airports, both approximately 2 ½ hours by car and 20 minutes from Pedrógão Grande, a natural lake, ideal for swimming, fishing and scuba diving.

Campelo - only a 10 minute drive which has a cafe bar, small mini mercado, post office and popular trout farm/restaurant.

Poco Corga - only a 5 minute drive, inland river beach (praia fluvial) with riverside restaurant. Lots of open areas for sunbathing and free parking.
