Charming Colorado Mountain Self Catering Cabin

Perched on the side of a mountain overlooking The Heart of Evergreen, this classic Colorado cabin has been lovingly restored and expanded over the years, most recently in 2007. There are three bedrooms, and two baths. It sleeps 10 comfortably. The altitude is about 7,000 feet above sea level.

Family-friendly accommodations include a portable-crib, high chair, toys, books, games, art supplies, X-Box with games and an extensive family-friendly DVD library. We didn't forget the grown-ups! There are plenty of wine, champagne and martini glasses, novels, cable TV and DVD's. Domestic and local telephone calls are free, international calling is not.

There is wireless internet access in the house.

Expansive windows provide mountain and village views. There are hand-carved details that you will not find anywhere else, including doors, panels and even a totem pole! Wildlife is all around, and deer, elk and foxes are frequent visitors. On quiet evenings, you can hear Bear Creek softly babbling from your private deck.

The main level has a mudroom, kitchen, dining room with seating for 10, a large living room with fireplace, laundry room, bedroom with queen-size bed, a bunk room that sleeps 4 and a newly-renovated bathroom with oversized shower. The spacious deck opens off the living room, and features a private hot tub, a barbeque grille and gorgeous views.

The bright and sunny lower level has a second living room with a queen-sized sleeper sofa, a bedroom with another queen-sized bed and an en suite bathroom. There is a walk-out to a sunny, fenced yard from the lower level - remember, you are on the side of a mountain!

Even though Your Mountain Home is located on a county paved and maintained road, we strongly recommend that you hire a 4 wheel drive vehicle when you arrive in Colorado - mountain weather is unpredictable. There is a circular drive and covered parking for your car.

You will never need to leave Evergreen during your stay. Seasonal activities include skiing, skating, hiking, horseback riding and biking. You can even fish in Bear Creek, a 3 minute walk from your door! There are galleries and fabulous restaurants. The vibrant cultural activities of downtown Denver are a 45 minute drive away. The house is stocked with basic spices and paper goods, and provisions are close by - there are three major supermarkets in Evergreen. All feature extensive take-away departments.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre (the location of the U2 video 'Under a Blood Red Sky) is just 20 minutes away. The Evergreen Lake House provides a lovely venue for skating in winter and free concerts in summer. Please visit the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce for more details on local attractions.

Rates vary by season, and range from $1,125 - $1500 per week. There is a $500 security deposit required, and the cleaning fee is $125 for up to 5 guests and $150 for 6 - 10. International bookings require a 50% deposit on confirmation with the balance due 45 days before arrival.
