Flint Cottage at Cork Farm
This romantic old property dating we believe from the 17th. Century, has been renovated to a very high standard and opened in March 2007. It is flanked on one side of the farmyard by a thatched barn and on the other by a traditional 17th century Kentish farmhouse.
The centrally heated accommodation is open plan and comprises a bedroom with a Queen size double bed, a lounge with sofa, easy chair, coffee table, TV/DVD player, Radio/CD, fully equipped Kitchenette/Diner with Electric Oven & Gas Hob, Microwave, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Sink and drainer. There is a separate luxury bathroom with shower area, bath, washbasin and w.c. A washing machine/dryer is also situated in this room.
Outside, between the cottage and the thatched barn, there is a small paved garden area with garden furniture and a barbecue.
Bed linen and towels are included in the rental. Electricity and Gas are included in our charges.
Parking for one car is provided on hard standing next to the cottage.
We regret that, as this is a working farm with sheep and horses, we cannot accommodate pets.
Flint Cottage has been awarded a four star rating by Visit Britain.
17th. Century Cork Farm is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Downs way, half a mile from Chilham with its famous Mediaeval square and castle, and five miles from both Canterbury and Faversham in the charming Kentish hamlet of Old Wives Lees.
The farm has an orchard of about 220 apple trees mainly Bramleys and Worcesters. Sheep graze in the extensive paddocks and we also accommodate up to 15 horses at a time in our stable yard. There are walks through our own woods, locally in Perry Wood, and of course we are located right on the North Downs Way, one of the old Pilgrim's routes into Canterbury which is about 7 miles distant. An easy two hour stroll if you have the energy!
Ashford is 10 miles, and Dover port and the Channel Tunnel are both 15 miles away. Central London is a one hour train journey from Faversham with a service peaking at four trains per hour.
There is a public house in the village and two pubs with restaurants in walking distance in nearby Chilham.
There are also two post offices, two farm shops, and a general store within a mile radius.
