Skuteviken Guesthouse
Skuteviken Guesthouse is located in Skuteviken in Bergen, Norway. Skuteviken is a residential area of Bergen which dates back to the 1600's and is known for its white traditional wooden houses. The buildings in the area have evolved through several centuries with small wooden houses who adapt to the terrain and the narrow cobbled streets.
The neighbourhood will take you back to old times and old Bergen. The guesthouse has five apartments in a renovated traditional wooden house. All apartments have a living room, kitchenette, a separate bedroom and a nice bathroom and WC. Every apartment is different and has its own charm.
Skuteviken Guesthouse also offers complimentary wireless internet access, and four of the five apartments is equipped with a flat screen with satellite TV.
The guesthouse is owned and managed by a Norwegian couple, Solveig and Eivind who craft and sell ceramics from a shop in their own home. You can see some of their products in the reception on the ground floor.
The Hansa Quarter, the fish market and Fløybanen is only a short walk away. The shortest route to the Hansa Quarter goes through Sverresborg, an old fort that is now a park area.
Fløybanen is a cable car that takes you to the top of one of Bergens seven mountains.
Bryggen (Norwegian, 'The Wharf'), also known as Tyskebryggen ('the German Wharf') is a series of Hanseatic commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the fjord coming into Bergen, Norway. Bryggen is on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites.
