Further afield visit Stratford, birthplace of Shakespeare, Bristol and the SS Great Britain, Worcester and the Commandery and cathedral, the Malvern Hills, Birmingham and the roman baths in Bath, Oxford and the universities.
Cheltenham has a railway station approx 30 mins walk from the house, while the town centre is reached within 15 mins. You can walk to Prestbury village in approx 20 mins and sample good food and real ale in several picturesque pubs. There is also a circular walk around the racecourse and routes taking you up to Cleeve cloud, the highest point on Cleeve hill.
