This comfortable, well-equipped purpose built self contained ground floor self catering accommodation sleeps 2 and is located within our architect designed home. In consideration of its surroundings the theme is to bring the woodland to the house and the house to the woodland. All rooms are bright, airy, comfortable and well appointed.
Our non smoking self catering accommodation comprises of a private entrance hall and spacious open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. There is a large double bedroom and a separate shower room.
All rooms are oil fired centrally heated for your comfort with additional heating to the lounge.
There is private car parking adjacent to the self catering accommodation and an outdoor seating area with far reaching views to Beinn Cruachan.
We offer Full Week Breaks throughout the year and also have Short Stay Winter Breaks available from the beginning of November through to the end of March. All our weekly rates are inclusive of bed linen, towels, electricity and heating. See our Tariffs for further details.
For birdwatchers we have established feeding stations throughout the woodland that attract an abundance of birds. This combined with wildflowers, butterflies and autumn fungi make Twelve Oaks a perfect retreat for the nature lover and those seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday.
Lochdon is ideally located as a base for visiting the attractions of the Isle of Mull, with both Tobermory and Iona only 45 minutes drive away. It is considered a hotspot for wildlife including red deer and otter, while Birdwatchers will be thrilled with the variety of birds, including White-tailed Sea Eagle, that this area has to offer.
Photographers will be spoilt for choice during a visit to the Isle of Mull, there is so much on offer. Be it a boat trip to the Treshnish Isles for puffins, an historic trip to Iona or simply capturing the wild and atmospheric landscapes. See our photo articles for photographic tips.
There is much varied walking on the Isle of Mull ranging from gentle strolls to harder hill walking. Indeed nearby Dun Da Ghaoithe (Fort of the Two Winds) is the Isle of Mull's second highest mountain at 766 meters and offers a challenging and rewarding days outing.
