Holiday Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall
8 Bellair Terrace is a wonderful base for the best holiday in Cornwall.
The house sleeps 8 (1 double, 2 twins and a futon in a day room)
It has a very light and airy feel, beautifully decorated in a contemporary way. It is situated in the winding byways of the village overlooking the harbour to the front, but it is also very close to Porthmeor beach and the Tate St Ives at the back.
8 Bellair Terrace is very close to the centre of St Ives, and therefore close to the beaches, the surfing and all of the artist studios, the cafés and the wonderful restaurants.
There are very few things in life better than a day visiting galleries, studios and gardens, the kids having exhausted themselves surfing, taking an evening stroll along the harbour in the warm summer breeze, having had your fill at one of the many award winning restaurants and watching the harbour lights dance on the waves as they wash against the shore.
Hosting the Tate Gallery at St Ives, this is a unique area for artists and art. Barbara Hepworth lived and worked here, you can visit her house workshop and garden full of her wonderful sculptures. This artistic history has led to a vibrant artist community with workshops, galleries and fine displays of painting, printing and sculpture.
The lost Gardens of Heligan are found here, the inspiration to the Eden project they reflect the temperate climate and the abundance of amazing flora and fauna. The Eden Project is just awesome, huge geodesic domes hug the interior of a large quarry and play host to an abundance of plant life. A dramatic setting for a dramatic story of the beginnings of our planet.
Days out can be up to Tintagel Castle, wandering around the amazing Eden Project or walking along dramatic cliff top walks. Although with all there is in the village of St Ives you can spend an entire week here without even getting in your car, a rare experience these days.
