THE BARN AT TUDOR LODGINGS
The Barn at Tudor Lodgings has been converted into a self-catering holiday cottage and comprises one large open plan room with a raised balcony sleeping area for two people together with a separate kitchen and bathroom. The Barn enjoys its own private fenced-in garden, together with spectacular views over the peaceful rural beauty of the Nar Valley. Whilst accommodation comprises twin beds on the raised balcony there are also two large sofa-beds in the living area for addditional guests if required.
This ancient building has been carefully restored throughout and comprises; Kitchen with fridge, electric cooker & microwave. Sitting room with dining area beneath raised balcony. Views across open countryside of the river Nar valley. Bathroom with shower and loo. Drying/coats in Boiler Room. Oil-fired central heating with radiators throughout. Patio area with barbecue facilities. Ample off-road car parking.
THE FAMILY
Gus and Julia Stafford Allen and their four children have lived in Castle Acre for 21 years. They have two horses, two labradors, two terriers, a canary and various chickens.

Castle Acre is a beautiful Conservation Village in West Norfolk, set at an historic crossing place of the River Nar on the ancient Peddar's Way long distance footpath.
THE VILLAGE OF CASTLE ACRE
Castle Acre (or Castleacre) is a special Conservation Village steeped in history. Within walking distance of the self catering cottage there are the following: Castle Acre Castle - 11th Century Norman Castle ruins. Castle Acre Priory - 12th Century Cluniac Priory ruins. Church of St. James the Great - 15th Century village church. 2 pubs, both serving meals (The Ostrich Inn & The Albert Victor). 2 food shops/delicatessans/off-licence. Tea Rooms. Village Toy Shop (Pilgrims). Village Gift Shop (The Old Post Office). Childrens play area with small skateboad area.
Further afield are: Swaffham - (approx. 4 miles) The local market town with its thriving outdoor Saturday market. Fakenham - (Approx. 9 miles) Another Local Market town with an outdoor market on Thursdays. North Norfolk Coast - (Approx. 20 miles) With wonderful bird-watching opportunities. Golf courses - Swaffham, Hunstanton, Brancaster and more. King's Lynn - (Approx. 20 miles) An historic port. City of Norwich - (Approx. 35 miles) A fine city.
HOW TO FIND US
The Village of Castle Acre is signposted clearly off the A1065 Swaffham to Cromer Road, approximately 4 miles north of the Swaffham A47 intersection. The self catering accommodation at Tudor Lodgings is in Pales Green off Bailey Street. Bailey Street runs down from the Norman archway to the river bridge and Tudor Lodgings is the last house on the right.
