Grange Cottage Self Catering
Grange Cottage is located in the very attractive Nottinghamshire village of Farnsfield which has a church, school, 2 pubs and extensive shops and is situated on the edge of Sherwood Forest.
You can sit on the patio, amongst the beautiful trees and listen to the birds.
The extensive grounds to Grange Cottage include a cottage garden and formal garden and a woodland garden is currently under construction in an acre of land.
There are more than 120 mature trees including Ash, Sweet Chestnut, Rowen, Holly, Yew, Larch, Weeping Willow and Silver Birch. In one of the ponds are Koi Carp. The formal garden includes a rill, lily pond and waterfalls.
The Barn - Self Catering
Our 300-year old converted barn, is just 1.5 metres from the main house, so we can offer single-storey, self catering accommodation which sleeps 2 plus 2.
It has disabled access for wheelchairs (ask for further details).
The barn has a double bedroom, bathroom and open plan lounge and kitchen, which comprises a useful range of cupboards, cooker, washing machine and fridge freezer and looks on to the lovely gardens and Koi carp pond.
It has its own central heating system and is very cosy and comfortable.
You have your own key and come and go as you please.
A cleaner will come in as often as you wish and there is a laundry within walking distance.
The village shops include a Co-Op and a Spar, both of which stay open late into the evening, and only a short walk away is our very own bakery, fruit and veg shop and newsagent.
The Barn has ample parking facilities within the grounds, behind electric gates.
Farnsfield is a very pretty village of genuine character with a useful range of shops, a church and three inns which serve both lunchtime and evening meals, the earliest starts serving from 5.30 pm.
Located 15 miles from Nottingham, 6 miles from Mansfield and just 25 minutes from Newark which, 6 times a year, hosts the highly acclaimed International Antiques Fair, renowned for their 1,500& stalls which attracts buyers and exhibitors from all over the world, in particular the USA, Japan and Italy.
Also a high speed train can be caught from Newark which can have you in London in just 1 hour 20 minutes.
Grange Cottage is only a few miles from the Major Oak, the centuries old tree in which Robin Hood is reputed to have hidden from the evil Sheriff of Nottingham.
Directions
Turn off the A614 (Ollerton/Doncaster road) at The White Post roundabout, taking the Farnsfield exit. Go through the village, past the shops to Plough Inn, which is on the left hand side, and Grange Cottage is the white house on the opposite side of the road.
From Newark - take the A617 for about 12 miles, passing through the villages of Hockerton and Kirklington. About 1 mile past the first turning to Bilsthorpe, on the right hand side is a small signpost pointing to your left marked Farnsfield. Keep on this Lane turning left at the 'T' junction, along the main road through Farnsfield, past the shops to The Plough Inn on the left hand side and Grange Cottage is the white house opposite.
