The Boat House is a self contained romantic holiday cottage with only a 4 minute walk to Raumati Beach and a 4 minute walk to a variety of restaurants and cafes.

Along the Kapiti Coast and close to Wellington.

Made from native and exotic timbers, matched with a range of nautical pieces - it is certainly a place to behold.

The large deck overlooks the eastern hills with 2 outdoor entertaining areas. French doors open onto to this area.

Master Cabin has queen bed and french doors to courtyard.

Upstairs has 2 single beds on the mezzanine. Stylish kitchen with all mod cons even a dishwasher. Aquarium toilet - spot all the fish, bathroom and full laundry.

You'll find a 28ft whale chaser boat right next to the house with can provide additional accommodation if required.

Take a walk up the garden path and you'll find not only a double hammock between the trees, but an outdoor bath with hot and cold running water.

Quality linens and furnishings.

Refreshments and breakfast provisions provided. Outdoor furniture and a gas BBQ.

Sleeps 4 indoors so bring the kids along too.

Whale Chaser History

The Boathouse has been constructed using recycled bits and pieces, including old dismantled bridges, telephone poles and native timber from local hospitals. The Boathouse was steered into existence by developer Grant Kiely who 'wanted it to look like a real ship'.

The construction of The Boathouse took three years and a lot of love, sweat, and enthusiasm on the part of Grant and others to complete. It provides a unique atmosphere that you won't find in any normal house of bach.

The whale chaser boat is moored alongside the house and was once known as the Avanti that use to be in service out in the Cook Strait.

Kapiti Island Tours
