Between the sea and the mountains our vacation rental apartment is in a new, modern, gated complex with a large residents pool and is only a 3 minute walk to the beach. It is 4 km from the historical town of Pizzo and beautiful Tropea is just 30 minutes to the south.

Whether you seek peaceful relaxing days by the pool or on the beach or sightseeing and exploring the countryside with its villages with their 'old world' charm this is the place

Our apartment is fully air-conditioned with own terrace & garden - ideal for breakfasts in the sun. Also there's a large swimming pool in landscaped communal gardens The vacation apartment can comfortably sleep 6 people with its 2 bedrooms and large sofa bed & 2 bathrooms-It's perfect for children.

Calabria is a natural and unspoilt area relatively undiscovered by tourists. The apartment, on the west coast, is well situated to explore both coast & inland. Close to the quaint historic town of Pizzo to the south, one of Calabria's priettiest towns with it's red-roofed houses huddled together. Walk up & down the small alleyways, turn a corner & in front of you is an amazing sea view !

A little further down the coast to the south is Tropea with its magnificent churches, atmospheric alleyways, gorgeous sea views, coastline & beaches. People come from all over the world to glimpse the houses built into the sheer cliff-side

If its history and culture that interests you the area has a rich heritage of artistic and architectural remains from Calabria's Greek and Roman occupants, with further relics from Byzantium, Renaissance & Baroque periods to explore.

A drive inland will bring you to one of the many hilltop towns and villages such as Gerace with its 500 year old cathedral, or Stilo with its famous Basilica.

Calabria's festivals are of 2 types- religious & gastronomic. Given the influences of the Ancient Greeks, Romans, Normans, Byzantine, French & Spanish the events are colourful & dramatic. The gastronomic festivals or sagre are based on the successful harvesting of crops / fishing- so are seasonal - & the food is fresh, at its best & wholesome

The central region has the conservation areas of the Silo & Aspromonte National Parks with their valleys, lakes and hills offering outdoor pursuits such as hiking, water-rafting, and pony trekking.
