If it is relative privacy you desire (away from the club members) - enjoy your individual sun worshipping session on your own roof terrace, and rather than utilise the Sunset restaurants, you can decide to enjoy your own evening BBQ on the balcony - enjoying your wine while watching the sun set

The interior of your Fethiye Sunset Apartment is air conditioned throughout both levels, is pleasantly designed with the decor being furnished throughout to a high quality

For your family entertainment, the lower level open-plan design supports a comfortable high quality living area including TV and DVD, along with an extensive fully fitted kitchen within the adjacent dining area

The four-kilometre stretch of beach and pedestrianized esplanade is ideal for spending the day soaking up the sun and is a central point for booking and embarking on guided tours, day trips, boat trips, car hire and safari jeeps

Calis-Beach has the famous Sunday market (a truly local market) which, while on a smaller scale to those in Fethiye, makes for a fascinating day while simultaneously offering the opportunity to supplement your weekly self-catering provisions
You will find a water taxi (water dolmus) sailing across the bay to the harbour of Fethiye, if you take this twenty-minute trip, you may be fortunate enough to spot one of the many protected sea turtles

The ‘Dolmus’
An inexpensive mode of transport is the lifeblood of the local communities and is a ‘must experience’ for all foreign visitors. These local bus services leave from the Sunset Beach Club and converge on the town of Fethiye - they regularly travel to all the immediate areas
In addition to the regular ‘dolmus’, the water taxis, travelling to and from Fethiye Marina are readily available - of course there are car, scooter, quad bike and bicycle hires if required

Fethiye
Is a typical Turkish market and harbour town, not yet lost to the western impact, where local daily life and businesses continue to work alongside the ever-increasing western influences
The coastal town boasts a modern marina, where local fishing boats and traditional ‘Gullet’ pleasure sailing ships ply their work along the busy promenade

Local Markets are held twice weekly within Fethiye town, where the farming communities offer up their fruit, vegetables and other commodities. The ‘Tuesday Market’, being one of the largest in Europe, in no way replicates the usual ‘tourist type’ bazaar, generally associated with other European holiday venues. The Fethiye markets are genuine ‘points of sale’ for the local rural neighbourhood and is worthy of many a visit

Restaurants are in abundance offering traditional and western fare, boutiques, shops, banks and bars supplement the old central shopping area and town centre
The Fisherman of Fethiye offer their produce within their centrally located ‘fish market’, which also serves as a ready made restaurant – choose your fresh fish and it is served on the platter within minute

History is combined with the modern lifestyle - traditional Turkish bazaars mix with modern supermarkets – motor boats combine with traditional sailing ships – the Amphitheatre sits alongside a modern cultural centre

Complimenting the infrastructure of this long established town are the Turkish residents themselves, of whom politeness and courtesy is a joy to behold.

The historical site of Kayakoy
Is only a short 30-minute driving distance from your apartment
Kayakoy town has been abandoned since the compulsory exile of its Christian Greek inhabitants during the 1919-922 Greco-Turkish war
Tales are still told of the harmonious relations between the Muslim and Christian populations, with the local Turks accompanying the exiles’ and promising to care take of their possessions until their return. Unfortunately the Greeks never came back, but the various caskets still remain waiting for such a return

On a lighter vein - to enable you fully appreciate the beauties of this particular part of the world, a day visit around the offshore 12 Islands of Fethiye, Gocek and Calis is a ‘must do’
