Central Portugal Cottage with Pool

Situated just outside the market town of Figueiro Dos Vinhos, Mara's Cottage sits above and looking over a lovely lush wooded valley, complete peace and quiet, completely separate from the main house, and has its own pool, sun/candlelit terrace and BBQ area, shady outside seating area for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evenings.

The cottage sleeps 2 in a high ornately carved double bed, has its own en-suite shower room and toilet. A small but well fitted out Kitchenette so preparing your own light meals is easy, complete with fridge, hob, toaster, kettle, sink and equipment. Free tea and coffee provided,(plus fruit platter & local wine on bookings of five nights or more) there is a small dining table for two people plus a lounge area with log burner stove for cosy nights indoors.
Cool tiled floors, and exposed beams make Mara's Cottage a uniquely comfortable and unusual holiday location.

Outside there is excellent parking, close to the patio, the sundeck has good sun exposure from early morning to late afternoon, the pool is secluded and private. There is a cool shady vine covered area complete with BBQ for those who need to cool off and relax.

We can provide route maps to all local places of interest, bicycle hire available on request, Picnic lunches 5 euros per head (includes a bottle of wine per couple) for day trips are also available upon arrangement in advance.

The Local Area
Although completely peaceful and rural we are within walking distance of a small café-bar in the local village of Figueira, where if you make the effort to say 'Bom Dia' you'll receive a warm welcome.

Figueiró dos Vinhos is 5 km away and is a small but beautiful market town, with shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a small cinema and indoor swimming pool, library and internet cafe (which is free).

Life here is slow and relaxed and completely charming. The whole area is full of swimming places, fluvial beaches and stunning scenery from the historic castle of Templar at Tomar, the roman ruins at Conimbriga to the wonderful shopping and history of Coimbra, you'll never be bored!
