Edakkad River House sleeps six guests.

The ground floor has one double en-suite bedroom and one room containing a single bed and a bunk bed with separate shower room etc. There is a dining room and kitchen and a sit-out overlooking the river as it joins with the Arabian Sea.
The upper level contains a sitting room, which opens out to a roof terrace.
An extra guest can be accommodated in the upper sitting room.
Views from the roof terrace are quite stunning and at night the sky is as black as can be. With no light pollution the stars are quite breathtaking!

Edakkad River House offers simplicity with comfort while outside the village fishermen go down to the sea each day with their nets, coconuts are harvested and ladies beat their washing on the rocks.
Its like going back in time!

The house has views over the famous Drive-in Beach of Muzhappilangad. The Drive-in Beach is a four kilometre beautiful beach where it is possible to drive the whole length, skimming the waves.

Edakkad River House has a large library of talking books on tape and CD and a large library of film on DVD. It is recommended that a personal DVD player is taken to the house if you like to relax with a film. There is no tv.

The local children play cricket a short distance away and welcome you into their game.

The house has its own washing rock, a good source of entertainment for those who like to try beating washing the way the village ladies do. There are laundry facilities but it's still fun to give the old methods a try.

Access to the property is along a natural jungly path through coconut groves.

Smoking is allowed on the roof terrace but not inside the building.

Kerala is not a dry state and there are roadside government controlled outlets where local and foreign alcoholic beverages can be purchased. So for anyone requiring a cool beer at home, the fridge can be stocked up quite readily.

The house is ideal for those seeking relaxation away from other tourists.
