Castaway cottage is the perfect location to get away from it all. It sleeps five people and is located on the beach in Lower Largo, a resort village in the East Neuk of Fife adjacent to Lundin Links on Largo Bay. This stone built cottage built in 1809 has been tastefully converted and extended to combine modern comforts with spectacular views out to the Firth of Forth.

The cottage comprises open-plan Kitchen / Dining / Sitting-room

(7.5 x 5m), two bedrooms (one double /one twin) and bathroom with shower.

There is a private walled patio area which fronts onto the beach. Extensive walks can be enjoyed along the beach or take advantage of the Fife coastal route walks nearby.

On street parking, linen, gas central heating and a welcome pack are included in the price.

Seashell Cottage

Enjoy traditional self-catering accommodation for up to six people in a former fisherman's cottage in the village of Lower Largo on the coast of Fife, Scotland.

This charming former fisherman's cottage located in the little village of Lower Largo the home of Alexander Selkirk (Robinson Crusoe). The cottage is 125 years old and is a traditional terrace and is right across the road from Largo bay. Largo beach boasts over 2 miles of stunning sandy beaches. From cliff top walking to a stroll along the seashore the view still takes your breath away.

The cottage sleeps six and has been tastefully modernized but still retains much of its traditional charm. The open-plan ground floor consists a comfortable lounge with sofa bed leading to a dining area and a well equipped kitchen. The stairs lead to a spacious, sunny double bedroom on the first floor. A further stair off this room leads to an attic twin bedroom (more suitable for children) with combed ceilings (highest point 5' 5). This is an airy attic with dormer window to the front of the house.

A pleasant shared walled garden is reached via a lane from the house, which is safely enclosed. The patio area, with comfortable garden furniture, has steps leading to the middle section which is laid with lawn. Further steps lead to the upper tiered level which is also lawned and is used as a drying area.

The Area - Lower Largo, Fife

Lower Largo is located in the famous East Neuk of Fife , the old Scots word for corner , the name given to the wedge of land running around the Eastern peninsula of Fife.

Lower Largo on Largo Bay is a charming fishing village with its own harbour where fresh lobster and sea food can be otained either from the fishermen or the excellent Crusoe Hotel 100 yards away. Here The east Neuk has some of the most picturesque whitewashed buildings with red pantiled roofs that overlook winding streets leading to their secluded harbours.

Situated adjacent to Lundin Links with its famous golf course,it was for centuries a prosperous fishing village noted for manufacture of nets and knitwear.With its fine sandy beach is now a popular tourist centre close to many fine 9 and 18 hole golf courses. Lower Largo has its own sailing club and is ideally situated for a variety of watersports.
