Kinnaird Selston
“Kinnaird” is a self catering bungalow on a cul-de-sac with 3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 single) and sleeps up to four people.
It is set in a large mature lawned garden with herbaceous borders, trees and many unusual plants, bulbs, and shrubs. We have provided garden furniture and parasol along with a barbeque.
The property is suitable for couples and families but we do not accept children under the age of five unless by special prior arrangement.
There is room for one vehicle on the gated drive and ample space for others on the large frontage.
On arrival at Kinnaird you will be met personally by Karen and John Barton (the owners) and there will be a welcome tray of tea, butter, jam and home made cakes to refresh you after your journey.
Karen and John live in the next village and so are on hand for any problems or advice
There is a strict NO SMOKING policy and sorry, but no pets are accepted.
There is a fully automatic gas central heating system installed and a thermostat on each radiator so you can set the desired heating temperature in each room.
Step out of the kitchen into the conservatory where you will find a padded cane suite for you to relax and enjoy the garden from indoors!
The dining kitchen has recently been fully refurbished in white and browns with a low level fan oven and separate hob over which is an extractor fan, there is a washing machine, microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. You will find a white pottery dinner service and a selection of crockery and glassware. There is a set of stainless steel saucepans, deep-lidded frying pan, casserole dishes, tea pot, caffetiere and many other items.
In the utility room next to the kitchen is a freezer, tumble dryer, steam iron and ironing board.
The large lounge has a comfortable 3-piece suite, remote control television with dvd and video. There is a Hifi and CD player. You will find a comprehensive video library suitable for all tastes. There are CDs and cassettes. We have provided games and puzzles for rainy days along with a large selection of novels and reference books.
There is soft lighting for a relaxed atmosphere
The bungalow has 3 bedrooms (one double and 2 single rooms). All the comfortable beds are made up for your arrival with co-ordinated linens and duvets. There are spare pillows and extra blankets in each room and fluffy bath and hand towels are provided on pine towel rails.
The shower room has recently been refurbished in white, black and chrome to a very high standard and consists of a WC with dual flush and a warm touch seat, a hand basin with illuminated mirror and shaver point, and an electric shower. There is a non slip bath mat and yes even the essential spare loo rolls!
Local Facilities
Kinnaird is approx. a ten-minute drive from Junction 27 of the M1 motorway and ½ hour drive from the East Midlands Airport. It is on the 331 Trent bus route Alfreton - Nottingham (Further timetable details are available on request) and is approx 20 mins away from the local train station in Alfreton or 40 min from Nottingham station
There are many attractions within a short drive
Chatsworth House; Newstead Abbey; Hardwick Hall; Mr Straws House; Renishaw Hall; Denby Pottery; Go Ape; Alton Towers
There is a comprehensive folder of all the local attractions and places to eat out for both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in the property.
If you like to play golf then there is a diverse range of golf courses within a 10 mile radius which includes Holinwell and Morley Hayes.
For the anglers then there is the River Trent (permits required) and if you want to ride a bike then these can be hired in Clumber park.
Kinnaird is close to some excellent shopping centres - Chesterfield with its crooked spire, Nottingham, Derby, Newark, Mansfield. There is also the East Midlands shopping outlet only 15 min drive away.
There are also some excellent garden centres and plant nurseries close by. Some with very good coffee shops!
