The Property:
From the curb, it looks like a house Granny might have had. Its charming white siding, wicker furniture on the wrap-around deck, the white picket fence. Throw in an array of flowers and the picture is complete.
What is surprising is when you enter the house. You won't find arts and crafts and nick knacks here, but an interesting blend of articles purchased from around the world.
Imported terra cotta tiles cover the ground floor level with earth tones and bold calming colours.
Step behind the picket fence into the east wing of the house, your private quarters. A French door leads you in to the large bedroom with queen size bed. Large southern windows overlook Lake Ontario, while the eastern window overlooks the garden, fountain and lake.
A hand-carved headboard imported from Thailand, graces the room, while a hand -made tapestry from Egypt decorate the north wall. The room is bright, carpeted and inviting.
Up one step is your private luxurious bathroom. Shiny black imported ceramic tiles cover the floor and face wall which is contrasted by a rust colour wall with exotic pictures and artefacts from Africa. A roomy shower stall with rainhead faucet is an enjoyable way to start/end your day. Large soft towels make are there for your enjoyment.
Up several stairs is your private library, TV room which overlooks the front garden and wild bird feeders.
Behind a pocket door is the new French kitchen that overlooks the lake, where you are welcome to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and a fresh roll or pastry, just to start your morning off. Then you probably would want to avail yourselves of the numerous and elaborate 'brunches' offered at numerous restaurants in the area.
The backyard is a treat, offering ocean-like views where you can sit and enjoy yourselves, read a book, enjoy a coffee or glass of wine in a muskoka chair, or on our inviting swing for two.
The BBQ is there for your use, however the varied fine cuisine in the County will always beckon.
You are welcome to enjoy the pebble waterfront, however if you are dreaming of a nice sandy beach, Wellington beach and boardwalk is a five minute drive, or short walk away. While Sandbanks National park offers some of the highest sand dunes in Eastern Canada, great swimming, numerous walking trails. Are you a bird watcher? Presquil National park will not disappoint you.
Cayak rentals/lessons are available at Wellington beach, and if you are more of a watcher than a do-er, you can watch them sail by as you sip a wine or beer.
