Self catering on Causeway Coast
Bush Cove provides bright, comfortable and spacious accommodation just outside the historic town of Bushmills. It is the perfect base for exploring the world-famous Giant’s Causeway and the magnificent coastline.
This modern, furnished house is a short walk from the famous Bush Distillery, the oldest of its kind in the world. The town is also the home of the Bushmills Inn and the Distillers Arms, both award winning restaurants.
You can also savour some of the most Europe’s most spectacular and undiscovered scenery, all within minutes from Bush Cove. Apart from the stunning Giant’s Causeway, a remarkable formation of basalt columns stretching into the sea, there’s the Glens of Antrim, where nine rivers have carved deep valleys through the Antrim Mountains to the sea. It is here that you can walk through some of the wildest and most remote parts of Ireland.
From White Park Bay you can see where Spanish Armada ships were wrecked in 1588 and see the ruins of Dunseverick Castle perched on a crag. The atmospheric Dunluce Castle is also well worth a visit. In the tiny fishing village of Portbradden is Ireland’s smallest church and from there you can continue to the famous Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge, which swings precariously over an 80-feet chasm. All of these fascinating sights are bordered by some of the best beaches in the world.
If you like to be active, there’s the internationally renowned Royal Portrush Golf Club. There are water sports of all kinds, including scuba diving for wrecks off Rathlin Island, an important ecological site. The North Coast is also a haven for fishermen, cyclists and walkers, while the Atlantic breakers attract surfers from all over Europe.
And if you’re exhausted after all that, you can always take a ride in the steam locomotive from Bushmills to the Giant’s Causeway, a great treat for all the family!
The house itself has 3 bedrooms (sleeps at least 6) with the main bedroom having an en suite with a large shower cubicle.
