Drovers Cottage is comfortable and spacious retaining its old charm with all modern facilities. It has central heating throughout. Accommodation comprises of separate kitchen/diner lounge, DVD, CD player TV (Sky freeview) and a Gin Gan (sunroom) with stunning views over open country and towards the Cheviot Hills.
The master bedroom is tastefully decorated and is cosy and comfortable.
The twin bedroom is spacious and colour co-ordinated with plenty of strorage space.
The prices include bed linen, towels, heating electricity.
The kitchen is well equipped and has many extras, such as oil, herbs etc, for the more ambitious cooks amongst our guests.
Outdoors is a large, fenced in garden, Parking for up to 2 cars. Drovers Cottage lies on a track 500metres away from the main road, which provides a peaceful and quite location.
Drovers Cottage is a rural retreat in the heart of Northumberland, allowing easy access to the many tourist attraction within Northumberland: Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water, Alnick Castle and gardens, Wallington Hall, Cragside, deserted sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages and castles along the Northumberland coast. The cities Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh are only a short drive away (1 -1.5 hours).
There are plenty of outdoor activities available from walks at all levels, to bird watching, cycling, fishing, horse riding, water sports and golf. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area providing good food in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Drovers Cottage is open all year. Our prices range from £285 to £520 per week all-inclusive, depending on season.
A £100 deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance is payable 6 weeks before arrival. The deposit is not refundable unless the period cancelled can be re-let.
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement at no extra costs. 1 acre of land is available to graze a horse.
A travel cot and highchair can be provided.
The cottage is fully equipped and the following list of hidden extras will help with your packing:
starter pack of household items, thermos flask and picnic set, picnic rug, information file, tourist leaflets, list of local restaurants and takeaways, assorted guide books, a list of pet friendly places to visit and a variety of board games.
During autumn/winter the heating will be on.
