Inverness is a great base for exploring the Highlands in every direction. To the south is the iconic Loch Ness; to the east is the rolling Nairnshire countryside with hidden rivers, antique shops and ancient monuments; to the North, is the Black Isle with its excellent cycling and the picturesque village of Cromarty; and, to the west, beyond the village of Beauly, are the mountains and emptier spaces of the West Highlands.
Inverness itself, straddling the salmon rich River Ness, is the capital of the Highlands and boasts a wonderful range of restaurants, pubs and musical venues to keep your evenings busy. Eden Court theatre, Aquadome swimming pools, Victorian market, tennis courts, ice rink, golf courses, Cathedral, Castle, Caledonian canal and of course the shopping .. oh yes, the shopping .. will keep you busy all week. Marks & Spencers is only three minutes walk from Flat No.9 by the way!
