Madeira House in Ryde is near to all the major attractions on the Esplanade - ice rink, bowling alley, open air swimming pool, canoe lake, funfair, bowls green, marina, cafes, nightclub, Appley beach, children's play area, beach huts and bars, clubs and restaurants.
A sandy beach is just a 2 minute walk away -no cars needed. A brisk walk along the sea front will take you to Seaview in one direction or Fishbourne in the other; for those less energetic, the hovercraft, jetfoil, train station and bus terminal are all a shot stroll away.
The open top buses are a very popular way of seeing the island, from the Needles to Newport, whilst the easy travel links to the mainland allow days out in Portsmouth. This all makes Maderia House is an excellent base for exploring the Isle of Wight and further afield.
The local shops (50m away) provide newspapers, groceries, laundrette services and excellent fish and chips. The main shopping centre in Ryde, with all its individual style shops and large supermarket is within walking distance.
Local pubs serve food and there is a Chinese take away at the end of the road.
This grade 2 listed building in Ryde town sleeps 8 & 2 people in 4 twin bedded rooms ( 1 on the main floor). The main room has an en-suite shower room and the other bedrooms share a brand new bath/shower room. Bed linen is provided. The new kitchen /diner has a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and TV.
The large sitting is comfortable with sofas, a DVD player and freeview TV.
