Okahu Vineyard Stay Cottage
A land of ancient forests, people and legends. A beach that stretches further than you can imagine. Sunsets too beautiful for words.
This is New Zealand's Northland, the country's warmest region, the home of Okahu Estate and a unique and challenging location for winemaking. The layers of complexity in Okahu wines reflect the layers of soil, sandstone, ancient kauri forest and clay in which the grapes grow. The Knight family has been coaxing the very best from these 'Kauri Sands' since 1984, creating award-winning wines with inner strength and enduring spirit.
Our private three bedroom cottage is nestled within this vineyard and contains 2 bouble bedrooms, 1 single ( 2x single beds), bathroom/shower, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, large deck with BBQ, outdoor furniture, phone, fax, email (by arrangement), colour tv, video and stereo.
Tarriff is $180 NZD for two people March - November and $220 NZD for two people December to February.
Free wine tastings are available at the Cellar Door 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday (Winter) and everyday during (Summer).
The cottage is close to town with good restaurants and easy driving to both coasts. Just 10 minutes drive to Ahipara and its famous surfing beach, slide down the giant sand dunes, hire a quad bike and drive along the beach, enjoy good fishing, Golf course and walks.
Use the cottage as a base to explore Cape Reinga, the Bay of Islands (take a boat trip), Tane Mahuta the giant Kauri tree, and the beautiful bays and beaches surounding the Far North
