The cottage sleeps 4, having two twin bedrooms, one with handbasin, and a bathroom with wc, handbasin and a power shower over the bath.
Downstairs is a well equiped kitchen with dining area, the comfortable, spacious sitting room has a colour TV and a woodburning stove makes for a cosy winter stay (logs provided) there is a downstairs cloakroom with wc and ample space for wellie boots etc.
Outside the sitting room is a terrace with garden furniture stored in the shed.
The garden is fenced and dogs are welcome, however the fields surrounding the house have sheep, cattle and horses in them.
A birdwatchers paradise, on a level with the birds, including red kites, ravens, buzzards and hawks, circling high above the valley.
Hafod is surrounded by pasture land and woodland to which tenants are permitted access on foot, leading onto the open hill for enthusiastic walkers.
Mountain bikes can be hired in Builth.
Fishing on a double bank stretch of the River Irfon, a tributory of the Wye, (15 minutes walk down the hill) is available by arrangement.
On the river bank is the tiny chapel of St David, Llanynis, where legend says, Llewellyn ap Gruffydd, the last welsh Prince of Wales prayed the night before he was slain in a skirmish on Dec 11th 1282. A monument, marking the spot where he fell is across the river in Cilmay.
Builth Wells is a small market town and has many pubs, two supermarkets and two butchers and a veg and fish stall on friday mornings.
A leisure center with swimming pool and a cinema and theatre. On the North side of the town, The Royal Welsh show ground hosts may interesting events during the year.
The heart of Wales railway, running from Shrewsbury to Swansea has its nearest station in Garth about 10 minutes drive from the cottage.
With pony trekking near by, and an easy drive to Hay on Wye-'Town of books', The Black Mountains, The Brecon Beacons National Park, the Elan Valley Dams, Rhayader, it provides an ideal refuge from the hurly burly of everyday life with peace and tranquillity yet accessible to a wide range of interesting attractions or activities, either energetic or not!
